Kansas Municipal Utilities works to strengthen and sustain municipal utilities by working on their behalf with legislative and regulatory decision makers at the state, regional and federal levels. KMU takes an active role in legislative and regulatory matters and has increased the visibility and standing of municipal utilities in these processes. KMU makes every effort to keep its members informed and connected to the issues and decisions that are being made and will affect their utility operations both now and into the future.
The Kansas Municipal Utilities (KMU) legislative team represents the issues of municipal electric, natural gas, water, wastewater & telecommunications utilities on a variety of state legislative issues in Topeka. Municipal utilities across the state speak with a common and united voice through their membership in KMU.
